Marvel Monster Meshuggeneh!: Flora Colossus

I'll admit it, I didn't give a good god damn about Groot until his use as a beatstick in Abnett and Lanning's Guardians of the Galaxy, but I've always had an affinity for tree-folk since a certain NEw Zealand Sequel. I drew him in all his naked first appearance glory, but I accidentally made it look like him and his stowaway are about to go up in Flames. Did I say accidentally? I meant that this is my official pitch to make Groot the spokesperson for tree conservation. Gritty Reboot anyone? 

A fin and... a fang?

To the uninformed, this is Fin Fang Foom, Jack Kirby's Opium Nightmare and one of the greatest fictional characters of the 20th century, While I have no evidence that Stan and Jack frequented the opium dens of yore, it's my only possible explanation to the origin of this character as he looks like a Chinese dragon mixed with an old man. A space alien who is also a dragon with an affinity for purple bike shorts. The fact that I can't get my mind around this is probably one of the reasons I'm not fully employed at the moment. He's also one of the few giant monsters who could write you a complaint letter due to the evolutionary inclusion of thumbs.
